Working Group IV: Assessment of Undergraduate Student Learning
Assessment of Undergraduate Student Learning (Standard 14)

Working Group IV

Charge
Working Group IV is charged with determining compliance with Standard 14 and with review of Rutgers’ commitment to assessment of undergraduate student learning and to the parallel commitment to ensuring its use in order to recommend ways and means for furthering the congruence between Rutgers’ mission, goals, and objectives and the actual outcomes of its undergraduate educational activities. In examining this topic, Working Group IV is charged with reporting on the evidence that exists to demonstrate that expected student learning outcomes are expressed throughout the university and the evidence that shows the means that are currently used to evaluate them. It will also report on its deliberations concerning how an institutional assessment plan might function as an instrument of institutional advancement and on what should be the nature of such an instrument.
