Using the Research/Graduate Context to Enhance Undergraduate Education (Standards 1, 11, 12)
Working Group III
Charge
In examining this topic, Working Group III is charged with reporting on how the distinctive research/graduate context of the university enhances undergraduate education. Working Group III is charged with review of those undergraduate programs that provide Rutgers’ students with a differential quality of undergraduate education by offering them advanced undergraduate research courses and by leveraging faculty research and graduate program resources to mentor undergraduates in cocurricular programs and apprenticeships. It will research how these benefits are disseminated and how the best practices of individual research opportunities might be more widely emulated. It is also charged with furthering the work of Working Group II in addressing its research questions and determining compliance with Standards 11 and 12 and with Working Group IV in addressing its research questions and in determining compliance with Standard 14.
